The American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) is an independent, 501c3 non-profit, student-run organization that is more than just a club. This grassroots association founded in 1942 is a cooperative between thousands of students from 6 different countries and hundreds of colleges of design (of all ages and academic degrees) committed to helping each other and promoting the architecture students agenda and interests within the profession of architecture and the 4 other collateral organizations that comprise it. It provides a sense of community which is used to share and create new ideas. The AIAS is a professional organization that serves as the official voice of architecture students. The University of Texas San Antonio chapter of the AIAS has been serving the our College of Architecture since 1988.
